Objectives of the Course:The course learning objectives are: 1. To understand the principles of operation and limitations of common measuring instruments. 2. To model transducers and their operating conditions 3. To design systems for the acquisition, analysis, and communication of data 4. To gain awareness of economical and social aspects of instrumentation systems.
Course Description:Measurement of variables: Electrical, mechanical, thermal, fluid digital transducers. Analog signal conversion. Computer interface components and techniques. Computer interface systems and standards. Signal processing for data acquisition. Case studies in computerized of complex instrumentation.
Learning Outcomes:1. Understand the fundamentals of an instrumentation system and the transducers
2. Employ the knowledge, skills, and concepts of signal conversion and converters
3. Be current about existing and emerging technology in data acquisition, storage and computing and related areas.
